I am currently working on an exciting contract opportunity for a client in the tertiary education sector for a Student Fees & Projects Lead role. This is a critical role within the Student Experience Division, focused on empowering a dedicated team to deliver exceptional service and operational excellence. (Please note this is not a finance role.)

About the Opportunity

As the Student Fees & Projects Lead, your primary mission isn't just managing statistics—it’s about managing people and progress. You will lead the Student Fee Leads team, fostering a culture of mentorship and continuous improvement while spearheading projects that streamline processes and enhance the overall student experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and Mentor: Plan, manage, and monitor the day-to-day operations of the Student Fee Lead Team, focusing on staff performance, development, and building team capability through proactive training and succession planning.
  • Drive Projects: Develop and coordinate initiatives that resolve service delivery issues and implement continuous improvements to student fee operations and payment systems.
  • Engage Stakeholders: Act as a key liaison across Business Operations, ICT, and Educational units, fostering trust and cooperation to manage complex enquiries and provide expert guidance.
  • Process Excellence: Monitor the effectiveness of billing practices and create comprehensive resources to guide staff in the application of updated fee-related processes.
  • Strategic Reporting: Undertake complex research and analysis to prepare evidence-based reports and recommendations that inform senior management decision-making.

Ideally you will:

  • Exceptional Leadership: Proven ability to manage, guide, and develop a team, setting clear performance outcomes and fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Project & Change Management: Strong experience in planning and delivering business improvement initiatives that optimise systems and streamline workflows.
  • Influential Communication: High-level interpersonal skills with the ability to negotiate effectively at all levels and provide sound briefings to senior leadership.
  • Analytical Mindset: The ability to solve complex problems and interpret detailed contracts or data to ensure operational accuracy.
